Financial & Insurance Policy
Our first concern
as professionals is to provide you optimal dental health
care. Diagnosis and treatment planning are performed on
that basis. Our goal is to maximize your insurance
benefits for you, but not let limitations in your
insurance dictate a pathway that would compromise your
dental health.
Insurance is
comprised basically of coverage and limits. Insurance
companies give rough estimates rather than exact quotes,
and this prevents any office from making exact quotes to
patients. All financial correspondence is based upon an
educated guess based upon a rough percentage (i.e.
pre-determination or not), and therefore coverage and
limits are affected accordingly. Our office does a
tremendous job with insurance, but be advised that it is
not an exact science because of how insurance companies
have structured the system.
We would like for
you to be involved in your dental insurance claims with
us. Be aware of your coverage and maximum limit so that
your expectations are met. We have found that a patient
may occasionally need to call on their insurance claim
if insurance delays payment. The insurance company is
working for you, not us, and consequently they respond
better to a call from you than our office. As a service
to you we will gladly file the dental insurance claims,
follow your claim, respond to insurance questions, and
resubmit if the claim is lost. However, due to the wide
variety of benefits programs, we have no control over
how much you will be reimbursed by the insurance
company. Your particular program may base allowances on
a fee schedule, which may not coincide with our fees.
Please remember the financial obligation is between you
and this office, not this office and the insurance
company. All we need from you is accurate, complete
insurance information and your approval to cover any
unpaid portion.
We will quote you
your estimated co-payment prior to making your next
appointment. Please request this information if it is
not readily offered. Any co-payment is an estimate
based upon the limited information the insurance company
gives us. Once insurance has paid us, we will charge any
unpaid portion to your account and we will then send you
a copy of the statement (or promptly send you a check if
you have a credit).
We require
PAYMENT IN FULL AT THE TIME SERVICES ARE PROVIDED.
Insurance patients only have to pay their ESTIMATED
Co-payment when services are rendered, if we have a
valid proof of insurance. If you have an account that is
over 30 days old, you will automatically be charged a
monthly finance charge of 1.75 %( equal to 21% annual).
The patient
(guardian) agrees to be and hereby is fully responsible
for total payment of procedures performed in this office
including any amounts not covered by any dental
insurance or prepayment program that the patient may
have.
